I heard from you that the Salaf used to recite the Qur'an over insects to make them leave the houses, so I was doubtful about this

The questioner : You mentioned previously that I heard from you that some of the Salaf used to recite over the insects that bothered them in their houses, and they would leave. Indeed, in our apartment, there was a lizard that bothered us for six months, constantly screaming, screaming, screaming. Then I sat down and recited the Qur'an, remembering your words. I recited the Qur'an and thought to myself, "I was doubtful, but now for two weeks I have not heard this lizard." Is there anything required of me?

The Shaykh : No, there is nothing required of you. But if you inform your brother Musa of the verses you recited so that he may benefit from them, or perhaps the lizard you mentioned, may Allah make it easy for him to kill it, Allah knows best. In any case, may Allah protect you from its evil, and praise be to Allah.
