Is it permissible to use gold and silver vessels for adornment only?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The Shaykh, the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadith:
He who drinks in silver utensils is only filling his `Abdomen with Hell Fire. الذي يشرب بآنية الفضة إنما يجرجر في بطنه نار جهنم
Sahih al-Bukhari 5634
So does the one who takes silver for adornment fall under this warning, and is it forbidden?

The Shaykh : There is a difference of opinion among the scholars on this. Some scholars say that making gold and silver vessels is forbidden, whether they are used or not, and whether they are used for eating and drinking or for anything else. However, the correct view is that it is only forbidden to use them for eating and drinking. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only prohibited eating and drinking, and the prohibition specifies the generality of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth هو الذي خلق لكم مافي الأرض جميعا
[Al-Baqarah 2:29]
So if everything on earth is for us to benefit from, where there is no prohibition, then it includes making them for adornment or using them, for example, for something other than eating and drinking, such as using them to store some medicines or to store coins or the like. This is the correct view. And if the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) only prohibited eating and drinking, then his silence regarding the rest of the benefits indicates permissibility. This is what is more likely correct in my opinion, and there is a difference of opinion among the scholars on this issue.
