What is the ruling on dedicating oneself to reciting the Qur'an for the sick and making it a profession?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In recent times, there has been an increase in reciters or those who claim to recite for people, so the truth has become mixed with falsehood, and people can no longer distinguish the sincere from the liar. Sorcery and sorcerers have also increased, and sorcery and visiting sorcerers and magicians have spread among the people. So, if you would be so kind, O honorable Shaykh, please answer my questions on the following points in the program "Light on the Path":
First: What is the ruling on dedicating oneself to recitation and making it a profession?

The Shaykh : Dedicating oneself to reciting for the sick is a good deed and an act of kindness if a person intends thereby the face of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and the benefit of the servants of Allah, and directs them to the lawful ruqyah (healing by Qur'anic recitation) that came in the Book of Allah and in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
As for making it a means to gather wealth, this intention removes the blessing from the recitation and necessitates that the reciter becomes a slave to this world; if he is given, he is pleased, and if he is not given, he is displeased. Therefore, I advise my brothers who dedicate themselves to reciting for the sick to be sincere in their intention for Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and that their concern not be money. Rather, if they are given, they take it, and if they are not given, they do not ask for it. In this way, there will be blessing in their recitation for their brothers. This is what I say to my brothers the reciters.

The questioner : Very well, may Allah bless you.
