The reciter: And Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Maqdami narrated to us, saying: Yahya narrated to us from Ibn Jurayj, saying: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abd Allah ibn Abi 'Ammar narrated to me from Abd Allah ibn Babiyyah from Ya'la ibn Umayyah, saying: I said to 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, [regarding] the hadith of Ibn Idris.
Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us.
The Shaykh : This is the noble verse[An-Nisa 4:101], in which Allah the Exalted negates any blame for shortening the prayer, on the condition that we fear the fitnah of the disbelievers. Here, Ya'la ibn Umayyah says to 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, "We are now in safety." The verse contains a condition, which is fear. So he was surprised by what Ya'la was surprised by, and he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it: How do we shorten the prayer when we are in safety? He said: meaning this is a gift Sunan Abi Dawud 1199Sahih (Al-Albani). Where in the Qur'an is it stated that we shorten the prayer without this condition, such that it is said to be a gift that Allah has bestowed upon you? Yes?
Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us.
The Shaykh : This is the noble verse
