Benefits of the Hadith: (Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed the midday prayer in Madinah . . .)

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
As for the first hadith, the hadith of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) in its two chains, it contains evidence that if a person prays one of the two combined prayers in full because he is in his home city, and then he leaves and travels, he prays the second prayer shortened. It is not said that the time for the midday and afternoon prayers is one time in the case of necessity for combining them, but rather each prayer is separate from the other. So if he prays the midday prayer in his home city and then travels, he prays the afternoon prayer as two units. Likewise, according to the stronger opinion, if the time for the midday prayer enters while he is in his home city, and then he travels before praying it and prays it while traveling, he prays it as two units, considering the act of prayer. Similarly, if the time enters while he is traveling and then he arrives in Madinah and prays, he prays four units, considering the act.
