Explanation of the Book of Friday Prayer and the Two Festivals-10b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abdullah ibn Muslimah narrated to us, from Malik, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Aisha that she said:
there was an eclipse of the sun in the time of God’s Messenger
Mishkat al-Masabih 1485
.

The Shaykh : In her statement
The sun was eclipsed
, there is a refutation of the claim of those who say that "khusuf" is for the moon and "kusuf" is for the sun. Rather, it is permissible to use this term for both. Likewise, the previous expressions, some of which say "they do not khusuf" and some of which say "they do not inkisaf," yes.
The reader:
The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed with the people. He stood and prolonged the standing, then he bowed and prolonged the bowing, then he stood and prolonged the standing, though it was less than the first standing, then he bowed and prolonged the bowing, though it was less than the first bowing, then he prostrated and prolonged the prostration, then he did in the second unit what he did in the first. Then he finished the prayer and the sun had cleared. He then addressed the people, praised Allah and extolled Him, and then said: "The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death of anyone or for his life. So when you see that, call upon Allah, say Allahu Akbar, pray, and give charity." Then he said: "O Ummah of Muhammad, by Allah, there is no one more jealous than Allah that His slave commits unlawful sexual intercourse or His female slave commits unlawful sexual intercourse. O Ummah of Muhammad, by Allah, if you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much."
.

The Shaykh : This contains the details of the two units of prayer that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform during an eclipse. He would stand for a long time, approximately the length of Surat al-Baqarah, then he would bow for a very, very, very long time. Then he would stand and recite Surat al-Fatihah and a long surah, but shorter than the first. Then he would bow and prolong it, but shorter than the first. Then he would raise his head and prolong the standing, approximately the length of the bowing, then he would prostrate two long prostrations, with a sitting between them equal to the length of a prostration. Then he would do the same in the second unit, but shorter in everything he did.
