The reciter: And it was narrated to us by Abdullah ibn Maslamah al-Qa'nabi, it was narrated to us by Sulayman, meaning Ibn Bilal, from Yahya, from 'Amrah,
That a Jewish woman came to 'A'ishah asking her, and she said: May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave. 'A'ishah said: So I said: O Messenger of Allah, are people punished in the graves? 'Amrah said: So 'A'ishah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I seek refuge in Allah. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) rode in a vehicle one morning, and the sun was eclipsed. 'A'ishah said: So I went out with a group of women between the two sides of the chambers in the mosque, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came from his vehicle until he reached his prayer place where he used to pray, so he stood up and the people stood up behind him. 'A'ishah said: So he stood for a long time, then he bowed, and he bowed for a long time, then he raised his head and stood for a long time, and it was shorter than the first standing, then he bowed, and he bowed for a long time, and it was shorter than that bowing, then he raised his head and the sun had cleared, and he said: I have seen you being tested in the graves like the trial of the Dajjal. 'Amrah said: So I heard 'A'ishah saying: So I used to hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) after that seeking refuge from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave.

The Shaykh : The punishment of the grave is established by the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the people of the Sunnah. As for the Qur'an, among its verses is the saying of Allah the Exalted regarding the family of Pharaoh:
The Fire, they are exposed to it morning and evening. And the Day the Hour appears [it will be said], "Make the people of Pharaoh enter the severest punishment."
