Explanation of the Book of Hajj-02a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Ahmad narrated to us, and Ibn Wahb narrated to us, saying: Yunus informed me from Ibn Shihab from Salim ibn Abdullah from his father (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
The Miqat for the people of Medina is Dhul-Hulaifa; for the people of Sham is Mahita; (i.e. Al-Juhfa); and for the people of Najd is Qarn. مهل أهل المدينة ذو الحليفة ومهل أهل الشأم مهيعة وهي الجحفة وأهل نجد قرن
Sahih al-Bukhari 1528
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "They claim that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, but I did not hear it:
and for the people of the Yemen it is Yalamlam ومهل أهل اليمن يلملم
Mishkat al-Masabih 2517

The Shaykh : This refers to the hadiths that differed only in wording, while the meaning is the same. And out of the scrupulousness of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he attributed the designation of Yalamlam as the miqat for the people of Yemen to another person who conveyed it to him. This is similar to his statement regarding the Sunnah of Fajr, where he mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray the regular voluntary prayers he mentioned, and then he said: "Hafsa informed me that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray two light rak'ahs after Fajr, and it was a time when I would not enter upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Yes.
