It is difficult for me to understand: since it is not permissible to wear the ihram while wearing perfume, how is it permissible for him to apply it to his body? If he applies it to his body and then wears the ihram, it will affect him.

The questioner : It is difficult for me to understand: since it is not permissible for a person to wear the ihram while wearing perfume, how is it permissible for him to apply it to his body? If he applies it to his body and then wears the ihram, it will affect him.

The Shaykh : Is it difficult for you?

The questioner : One of the brothers conveyed to me that you say a person should not apply perfume except to his head and forehead only.

The Shaykh : As long as the Sunnah has established the distinction, that is sufficient. The Sunnah has established the distinction between perfuming the body and perfuming the clothes. However, if it happens that after he has put on the rida and placed it on his shoulder, he must touch his beard, and there is perfume on it, this does not cause harm.

The questioner : Is it permissible for him to apply perfume to his entire body?

The Shaykh : Yes, I do.
