Explanation of the Book of Hajj-09b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abdullah ibn Muslimah narrated to us from Malik, from Abu al-Nadr, from 'Amir, the freed slave of Abdullah ibn Abbas, from Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith:
On the day of `Arafat, some people who were with me, differed about the fasting of the Prophet (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) some said that he was fasting while others said that he was not fasting. So I sent a bowl full of milk to him while he was riding his camel, and he drank that milk.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1661

The Shaykh : This issue is one in which the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) differed: is it better to stand while riding, or is it better to stand while walking? The correct view is that this depends on the person's condition. If he is more humble in heart and finds it more rewarding to be riding in the vehicle, whether on the roof or inside it, let him do so. And if it is better for him to be alone in a place and call upon Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and if that makes his heart more present, let him do so. The truth is that this varies according to the condition of the pilgrim.
