What is the difference between the one who performs tamattu' and the one who performs qiran?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the difference between the one who performs tamattu' and the one who performs qiran?

The Shaykh : The difference between them is that the one who performs tamattu' performs the lesser pilgrimage ('Umrah) first, then exits the state of consecration (ihram), and then enters the state of consecration for the major pilgrimage (Hajj) on the eighth day. As for the one who performs qiran, he enters the state of consecration for both Hajj and 'Umrah from the moment he first arrives at the boundary (miqat).

The questioner : What is the ruling on exiting the state of consecration?

The Shaykh : Exiting the state of consecration is not permissible except on the day of the festival.
