The reciter: Muhammad ibn Muqatil, Abu al-Hasan, narrated to us: Abdullah narrated to us: Yunus narrated to us from al-Zuhri, who said: Abu Umamah ibn Sa'ad ibn Hunaif al-Ansari informed me that Ibn Abbas informed him: .
The Shaykh : Did you say "fajtarrah" with a zay? A copy? Yes.
The reader:Sahih al-Bukhari 5391
The Shaykh : Yes, this is like the first one, except that it contains an addition: that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) rarely ate food until it was named for him and specified, meaning it was said, "This is such and such, and this is such and such," so that his heart would be at ease regarding it. Some historians have mentioned that after a Jewish woman in Khaybar presented him with a poisoned sheep, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would not eat from anything presented to him unless his companion ate from it before him, fearing that there might be something in it. This is how it was mentioned in *Zad al-Ma'ad* from some historians that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did this.
That Khalid ibn al-Walid, who is called the Sword of Allah, informed him that he entered with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) upon Maymunah, who was his maternal aunt and the maternal aunt of Ibn Abbas. He found with her a cooked monitor lizard that her sister, Hufaydah bint al-Harith, had brought from Najd. She presented the monitor lizard to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He rarely extended his hand to food until it was described to him and named for him. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) extended his hand toward the monitor lizard. A woman among the women present said: Inform the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) of what you have presented to him; it is a monitor lizard, O Messenger of Allah. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) withdrew his hand from the monitor lizard. Khalid ibn al-Walid said: Is the monitor lizard forbidden, O Messenger of Allah? He said: No, but it was not in the land of my people, so I find it repulsive. Khalid said: So I pulled it toward me.
The Shaykh : Did you say "fajtarrah" with a zay?
