Allah the Exalted said: “And hasten to a forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden as wide as the heavens and the earth.” So where will the Fire be?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace and Allah's mercy and blessings.
We have often pointed out that if a questioner asks a question, he needs to offer the greeting first, because he is sitting with us. The greeting is only from the one who arrives. Yes.

The questioner : Allah Mighty and Majestic says:
And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth
[Ali 'Imran 3:133]
So if the Garden is as wide as the heavens and the earth, where will the Fire be?

The Shaykh : First, this question is not appropriate, my brother. It was not raised except by a Jew to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). A Muslim does not raise this question. When Allah informs a Muslim of something, he says: “We believe and we have accepted it,” and he does not object.
as wide as the heavens and earth
[Ali 'Imran 3:133]
Is it now or later? And if it is now, the space is vast; above the heavens is a void whose extent no one knows except Allah Mighty and Majestic. So first, it is obligatory upon us, O brothers, that when Allah informs us of matters of the unseen, we say what? “We believe and we have accepted it,” and we do not raise objections, because the matter is beyond the level of our minds. This is a rule regarding matters of the unseen related to Allah Mighty and Majestic or to His creations. Will the people not be on a single plain on the Day of Resurrection? Say: Yes or no?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes, on a single plain. Some of them will be restrained by sweat reaching their mouths, and some of them by sweat reaching their ankles, and they are in one place. Does anyone say: How will this happen? No, he says: “We believe and we have accepted it.” So matters of the unseen are broader than our minds, O man. It is not right for you to raise such an objection regarding matters of the unseen. If matters of the unseen are established in the Qur'an and the Sunnah, what is our position toward them except listening, faith, and acceptance? Did you understand, my brother? That is it.
As for this Jew who raised this to the Messenger, he said to him:
Where is the night when the day has gone?
So he refuted his argument with a tangible matter. In any case, the advice is greater than this question, and that is that it is not possible to apply the word “why?” to matters of the unseen. Never. Nor the word “how?” because the matter is beyond our minds. And you, O human being, have you not counted the knowledge of everything? Never. If only this issue remained for you from the sciences, at that hour we would be tired and looking for an exit. And for this reason, when they asked the Messenger about the soul, what did Allah say to them? He said:
Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord قُلِ الرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّي
[Al-Isra 17:85]
A matter that you cannot grasp
And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little." وَمَا أُوتِيتُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً
[Al-Isra 17:85]
Glory be to Allah, meaning: Have you not grasped all the sciences except the knowledge of the soul? Most of the sciences have passed you by.
And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little." وَمَا أُوتِيتُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً
[Al-Isra 17:85]
And this is amazing. Your soul, which is between your two sides, and without which you have no stability, you do not know what it is? We do not know of the soul except what the texts in the Qur'an and the Sunnah have brought, otherwise we do not know. Yes, that is right. Then, after that.
