If the mu'adhdhin calls the adhan and a person is eating the suhur, what is obligatory for him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If a person is served the suhur meal and he has just started eating when the mu'adhdhin begins the adhan, does he stop eating or eat whatever is convenient for him?

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you. As for the case where the mu'adhdhin says, "I do not call the adhan unless I see the dawn," then he must stop eating as soon as he hears the adhan, based on the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):
Bilal announces Adhan during the night, so you eat and drink, till you hear the Adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum إن بلالا يؤذن بليل فكلوا واشربوا حتى تسمعوا أذان ابن أم مكتوم فإنه لا يؤذن حتى يطلع الفجر
Sahih Muslim 1092b
As for the case where he follows the timetable, the timetable in our view anticipates the dawn, specifically by about five minutes. However, as you see now, you are attending here, and the brothers know that some mu'adhdhins call the adhan according to the time, while others delay. In any case... a calibrated clock can be used to know the appearance of the dawn by adding five minutes to the timetable, and at that point he abstains.
