The questioner : And this questioner says: A woman performed the tawaf al-ifadhah for six circuits, believing it to be seven, and after the sa'y and cutting her hair, she performed the single circuit. Is this permissible?

The Shaykh : First: the word "lady" (sayyidah), I do not agree with it. From where does "lady" come? "Lady" came to us from the West, from those who sanctify women more than men, so they say: "Lady." And we call her what Allah named her, and that is a woman. A woman is a woman, and a man is a man. But her question: she says that she performed the tawaf al-ifadhah for six circuits. And we say: Is she certain? Because sometimes a person thinks he performed six circuits when he had actually performed seven. If she is certain that it was six circuits, then adding the seventh circuit after this long interval does not benefit her. So she must now repeat the tawaf for seven circuits from the beginning. But if it is merely a doubt after the tawaf was completed, where she thought she had not completed it, she should not pay attention to this. And this is a rule, my brother, that benefits you in prayer, in tawaf, and in sa'y: if you doubt after completing the act of worship, what then? Do not pay attention to the doubt at all until you are certain.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The questioner : Does she repeat the sa'y?

The Shaykh : No, she does not repeat the sa'y. Yes.
