The supplication for travel: Is it obligatory for every individual if they are in a group?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding the supplication for travel, if we are a group, does it suffice for one person to say it, or must the group say it, with each person saying it individually?

The Shaykh : If he intends to make the supplication for them, there is no harm; that is, he says it while they listen and affirm it, and there is no harm in that. For Allah the Exalted said to Musa when he said:
Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment." رَبَّنَا اطْمِسْ عَلَى أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاشْدُدْ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ فَلا يُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ
[Yunus 10:88]
So what Musa was saying, Allah the Exalted said:
Your supplication has been answered قَدْ أُجِيبَتْ دَعْوَتُكُمَا
[Yunus 10:89]
The scholars said: The interpretation of this is that Musa was making the supplication and Harun was affirming it. Yes.

The questioner : That is, one person says it.

The Shaykh : There is no harm in one person saying it, and if every person says it individually, there is no harm. Glory be to You, O Allah. May Allah reward you. May Allah bless you.
