What is the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. Regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? ولقد يسّرنا القرآن للذّكر فهل من مدّكر
[Al-Qamar 54:17]
, we mentioned that it has two meanings, and we said that the meaning of taking a lesson is the more appropriate one, based on the evidence of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
so is there any who will remember? فهل من مدّكر
[Al-Qamar 54:15]
.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Is it permissible to attribute both meanings together?
Is there anything that can help one who wants to memorize the Qur'an?

The Shaykh : Perhaps we can say that the second meaning, which is memorization, does not contradict the first meaning. However, we stated that this is the closer meaning based on the context. But regarding the issue of memorization, some people find it difficult to memorize these days. You may find two people, and you tell them to memorize this surah, and one memorizes it in two or three days, while the other does not do so even in a month. But in any case, it is a statement that has been made that the meaning of “for remembrance” is “for memorization.” However, if you reflect on the verse, the meaning is for one who remembers by it. For example, if I say: “I have served you lunch, is there anyone who will eat?” Meaning, yes.
