A person performed the sa'y with extra rounds during 'Umrah; what is the ruling on that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : While performing my 'Umrah, I did the sa'y with extra rounds because I thought that the sa'y was from al-Safa to al-Safa once, not twice. I ask you to provide information on this.

The Shaykh : The information on this is that seven of these rounds are the valid ones that conform to the Shari'ah, and the remaining seven I did based on my own reasoning. We ask Allah the Exalted to reward us for them, but they are not prescribed. The sa'y from al-Safa to al-Marwah is one round, and returning from al-Marwah to al-Safa is another round. Accordingly, you must start from al-Safa and end at al-Marwah.
