What is the ruling on one who breaks his fast out of ignorance while the sun has not yet set?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah preserve you, Shaykh. In Ramadan, the Maghrib adhan was called, and it turned out that the sun had not set. Those who heard it ate and broke their fast. Do they have to make up this day?

The Shaykh : No, they do not have to make up this day. Why?
Because those who broke their fast, if they did not see the sun, had relied on the mu'adhdhin's adhan, and they are excused. And if they could see the sun, they assumed that the criterion is the adhan, so they are also ignorant. Therefore, nothing is required of them.

The questioner : Inside a building.

The Shaykh : I say nothing is required of them.
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. ربّنا لا تؤاخذنا إن نسينا أو أخطأنا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
Praise be to Allah who has expanded for us. However, if they know, for example, if we suppose they went out and found the sun, they must abstain. If they know that the sun has not set after they have eaten, they must abstain, even the mouthful in their mouths; they must spit it out. Yes.
