The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
Among the doubts that Satan casts into the hearts of some of the young people who mean to love the people of good and wish to walk with them is the idea that there are people who took this path and then relapsed from it. They fear that what happened to those people might happen to them. What is your guidance regarding such a matter?
The Shaykh : Our guidance is that this is a mistake, and that a person must worship Allah the Mighty and Majestic and adhere to the religion of Allah, and not be superstitious. As for those who relapsed, may Allah protect us from that, there are reasons for their relapse, among which is that faith did not become firmly established in their hearts. Had faith been firmly established in their hearts, they would not have relapsed, because when the joy of faith mingles with the hearts, nothing affects them, as Herakles said to Abu Sufyan. And the one who wishes to adhere to the religion should remain steadfast in faith, leave the company of the people of evil and stay away from them, keep the company of the people of good, and ask Allah for steadfastness. Yes.
