Benefits of the Hadith: (… that he heard Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan in the year of Hajj, and he was on the pulpit saying

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And we begin with the first hadith. His statement: "in the year of Hajj" Is the fathah on "year" a fathah of construction or a fathah of inflection? The answer.
The student: Inflection.

The Shaykh : It is a fathah of construction, because when such a word is added to a constructed word, the most eloquent is to construct it. From this is the hadith:
as free of his sins as the day his mother bore him رجع من ذنوبه كيومَ ولدته أمه
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 866Da'if (Darussalam)
And it is not said: "as the day your mother bore you."
Good, and in it also, in the hadith of Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), is evidence that the caliphs in the early period of Islam are those who undertake the sermon and guiding the people so that they become imams in the greater imamate and the lesser imamate.
And in it also is the responsibility of the scholars, because Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Where are your scholars" because the scholars are responsible for guiding the community, and it is upon the scholar to guide the community and convey to them the Shari'ah of Allah, and it is not upon him that the people should find the way, as Allah said to His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the master of callers and their imam, He said to him:
Not upon you, [O Muhammad], is [responsibility for] their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills. لَيسَ عَلَيكَ هُداهُم وَلكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهدي مَن يَشاءُ
[Al-Baqarah 2:272]
And for a person to be negligent and say, "Even if I speak, the people will not listen," there is no doubt that this is from Satan. You must speak, you must make clear, and let there be a thousand men present, of whom nine hundred and ninety-nine know and one does not know, and that is sufficient as a favor. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
if one man is guided on the right path (i.e. converted to Islam) through you, it would be better for you than (a great number of) red camels. لأن يهدي الله بك رجلا واحدا خيرٌ لك من حُمُر النَعم
Sahih al-Bukhari 3701
And do not belittle anything, for perhaps a word will benefit, and even if the people have disobedience, rebellion, and non-response, perhaps with much calling, encouragement, and warning, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) will benefit.
The important thing is that the question of Mu'awiyah the caliph (may Allah be pleased with him) about the scholars indicates that the scholars are responsible for the common people, and it indicates that the deviation of the common people may be due to negligence, what?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : From the scholars, where they did not convey and did not make clear to the people.
And in it also is evidence that the community is destroyed if their only concern is to make their women like images. For this reason he said: "The Children of Israel were destroyed when their women took this up", and it became so that people have no concern except to enjoy the images of women, as is the case in our time. People now want the woman to be an image like a plastic image, and for this they have introduced for them adornments that were not known, adornments that come at exorbitant prices, like what is called the kaffar, I think, or the confiri, right?
The student: Coiffure.
The reader: Or the coiffure, yes, a borrowed name. These coiffures, they say, the woman used to comb her hair for ten riyals, now how much does she comb for?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : No, no, they said a lot, meaning according to the situation, the important thing is I do not think it is less than one hundred riyals, and the matter is for one night and then it is gone. Yes.
The student: … for three thousand … .

The Shaykh : Yes, for three thousand, four thousand, or two thousand, the important thing is why? And it happened to me, foolishness, and it happened to me from one I trust, he said the woman comes to this coiffure and then she goes over every hair on her body and plucks it, yes, sweetness, he says she passes it over the skin and every hair follows it so that the woman appears plastic, with no hair or anything.
So these matters, unfortunately, have become the main preoccupation of many people, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
and the trial of the Children of Israel was in women وإنما كانت فتنة بني إسرائيل في النساء
And this is what has befallen the community of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) now, their greatest concern has become women, how she is adorned and how her image is and the like of that.
And in it also is attaching things to their causes, and that destruction has a cause just as salvation has a cause, and that if people are heedless of the obedience of Allah and turn to luxury and extravagance in this world, then their inevitable end is destruction.
And in it is what the author cited for the sake of, which is the prohibition of what?
The student: Al-wasl.

The Shaykh : Al-wasl. The prohibition of al-wasl.
