Benefits of the Hadith: (Indeed, my example and the example of the people are like the example of a man who kindled a fire...)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In this and the previous one, there is evidence for the use of sensory examples to clarify abstract matters. This is the way of the Sunnah, and it is also the way of the Qur'an. Allah the Exalted said:
And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge. وتلك الأمثال نضربها للناس وما يعقلها إلا العالمون
[Al-'Ankabut 29:43]
And there are many examples in the Noble Qur'an, because they bring the meaning closer. For a person's perception of tangible matters is closer than his perception of abstract matters. Thus, examples are struck to bring the abstract meaning closer. Also, in these two hadiths and those similar to them, there is evidence for the establishment of analogical reasoning (qiyas), and that it is a valid proof. Every example struck by Allah, and every example struck by the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), is evidence for the establishment of analogical reasoning, because the purpose of the example is to attach the abstract to what?
The reader: To the tangible.

The Shaykh : To the tangible. And this is analogical reasoning (qiyas). Analogical reasoning is attaching what is not explicitly mentioned in the text to what is explicitly mentioned in the text, due to a common cause.
