Explanation of the Book of the Hearts-07b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu al-Nu'man narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us from Ayyub from Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When anyone of you dies, his destination is displayed before him in the forenoon and in the afternoon, either in the (Hell) Fire or in Paradise, and it is said to him, "That is your place till you are resurrected and sent to it."
Sahih al-Bukhari 6515

The Shaykh : Yes, Allah is the Greatest. This is shown to him while he is in his grave, just as Allah the Exalted said regarding the family of Pharaoh:
The Fire, they are exposed to it morning and evening. And the Day the Hour appears [it will be said], "Make the people of Pharaoh enter the severest punishment."
[Ghafir 40:46]
This is one of the evidences used to prove the punishment and bliss of the grave, and there are many such evidences from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah the Exalted said in the Qur'an:
And if you could but see when the angels take the souls of those who disbelieved... They are striking their faces and their backs
[Al-Anfal 8:50]
They strike their faces and their backs,
Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire.
[Al-Anfal 8:50]
And He said:
Then how [will it be] when the angels take them in death, striking their faces and their backs?
[Muhammad 47:27]
And He the Exalted said:
And if you could but see when the wrongdoers are in the overwhelming pangs of death while the angels extend their hands, [saying], "Discharge your souls! Today you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation for what you used to say against Allah ولو ترى إذ الظالمون في غمرات الموت والملائكة باسطوا أيديهم أخرجوا أنفسكم اليوم تجزون عذاب الهون بما كنتم تقولون على الله
[Al-An'am 6:93]
Today you will receive the punishment of humiliation. And regarding the bliss of the grave, Allah the Exalted said:
The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, "Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise for what you used to do."
[An-Nahl 16:32]
Thus, in the Qur'an there is evidence, or evidences, for the establishment of the bliss and punishment of the grave. As for the Sunnah, it is mass-transmitted; all Muslims say in their prayers
he should seek refuge in Allah from four things: the punishment in Hell, the punishment in the grave, the trail of life and death
Sunan Abi Dawud 983Sahih (Al-Albani)
and the hadiths on this matter are too numerous to count. And His saying:
That is your place till you are resurrected
Sahih al-Bukhari 6515
Yes.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : Yes, because a door to it is opened for him.

The questioner : Does he enter it, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : He does not enter it, but if a door to it is opened for him, and its spirit and bliss come to him, it is as if he has entered it. Yes.
