A Brief Explanation of the Trial of the Dajjal and the Emergence of Gog and Magog

The Shaykh : The important point now is that the Dajjal will emerge in the end times. When 'Isa emerges, the Dajjal will come out from the east, in a valley between Sham and Iraq. Seventy thousand Jews from Isfahan will follow him. He will move across the earth like a cloud, with the wind at his back, meaning with speed. Whether he flies or moves rapidly on the ground, Allah knows best. People will hear of him in a short time and fear him, but he will catch up with them. He will remain on earth for only forty days, but the first day will be like a year, the second like a month, the third like a week, and the fourth and those after it like the other days. The first day being like a year does not mean intensity, as some people say that the time feels long due to the severity of the situation, just as days pass quickly for people in times of ease. This is a pure error, because the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 4321Sahih (Al-Albani) This is evidence that this year is real. Instead of the sun revolving around the earth in twenty-four hours, it will not revolve around it except in twelve months. The One who made it revolve at the usual speed is capable of making it revolve slowly. Just as the One who decreed that it would come from the east is capable of making it come from the west. That will happen, and many people will follow him. Few will be safe from his trial. Then 'Isa ibn Maryam will descend at the white minaret east of Damascus. No disbeliever who finds himself there will remain except that he will die. Then he will catch up with the Dajjal and kill him at the gate of Ludd in Palestine, and his affair will end. 'Isa (peace and blessings be upon him) will not accept from people anything but Islam. He will not accept the jizyah. He will break the cross and also the intoxicants, and he will kill the pig. He will not accept anything but Islam. Then he will remain for the duration that Allah wills. Then Gog and Magog will emerge. They are the ones who are now standing at their gates. They will emerge and be unleashed upon the community in a very great multitude. Allah the Exalted will inspire 'Isa, saying, "I have brought out servants whom no one can fight. So protect My servants at Mount Tur." They will return to the mountain and take refuge in it until fatigue and hunger overtake them. They will turn to Allah and seek His help. Allah will send the naghaf to the necks of Gog and Magog. It is a worm that destroys them quickly, eating their brains. They will become dead, the death of a single man, in one night, refuge sought in Allah. The earth will change from their smell. 'Isa ibn Maryam will seek from Allah to release them from this. There are two hadiths about this: one is that Allah will send upon them sweeping floods that will cast them into the sea, and the other is that Allah will send upon them birds with necks like those of camels, which will take one of them and cast them into the sea. And with this, their affair will end. Then let it be known that Gog and Magog will emerge, as it appears, from the east, because the east is the direction of all trials, refuge sought in Allah, as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said. They are from the children of Adam, but it appears, and Allah knows best, that they drink and are not satisfied. For the first of them will come to Lake Tiberias and drink all the water in it, and the last of them will come and say, "There was water here," and the water will have all dried up. This indicates that they drink and are not satisfied, as Allah the Exalted said regarding the people of the Fire: [Al-Waqi'ah 56:54-55].
