What is the ruling on a woman wearing high-heeled shoes, whether the heel is high or not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on wearing high-heeled shoes, whether the heel is high or not?

The Shaykh : If the heel is not high and does not draw attention, there is nothing wrong with it. If it is high and draws attention, then at the very least it is disliked. It could even be said to be forbidden, and that would have a basis, because it falls under displaying adornment. Furthermore, according to what doctors say, it is harmful to the leg, because Allah the Exalted created the leg to be level. If one wears a shoe with a high heel, the heel must be raised, and as a result, the balance of the nerves in the foot is disrupted, causing harm to the woman.
Therefore, my advice to my sisters is to leave off this type of clothing, whether we say it is disliked or forbidden, because of the physical harm it causes to the woman.
I also advise my sisters not to follow every new fashion. Whenever something new comes out in clothes, trousers, shirts, sandals, or socks, the woman goes to buy it, even if what she already has is good and usable. This is a sign of a lack of intellect and foolishness. It is a waste of money, and it causes the heart to become attached to every new thing that comes along. It should be known that our enemies may intend, by diversifying these items, to distract Muslims from the matters of their religion and their worldly affairs, which are more beneficial than that. A person ends up having no concern except for grabbing hold of whatever new fashions come and being occupied with changing and replacing them. Perhaps a person is of little means and borrows money for this purpose, even though this enriches the economy of our enemies, because the more they sell, the more money they have. So we enrich their economy and harm our own. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you and bless you. The questioner says.
