The Shaykh : The supplication and visiting the graves occur when a person goes out to the cemetery to visit the occupants of the graves with a visit that serves as a lesson for him. For this reason, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
I used to forbid you to visit the graves, but now visit them, for they remind you of the Hereafter كنتُ نهيتكم عن زيارة القبور، فزوروها، فإنها تذكركم الموت
