Is it established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to specifically designate the month of Ramadan for frequent recitation of the Qur'an, and to specifically designate the twenty-seventh night for completing a recitation?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... reading the Qur'an, then ... in Ramadan, ... reading the Qur'an, and is ... in Ramadan ...? Is this established ...? And is it established ... on the twenty-seventh night, as some imams do, even if it is not established ...?

The Shaykh : Yes, this is not established. However, some of the previous scholars and imams also held this view. They said that this month is the month of the Qur'an, in which the Qur'an was revealed, so a person should recite the Qur'an from its beginning to its end so that the people can hear it. As for their choosing the twenty-seventh night, it is because it is the most likely of the nights of the last ten to be the Night of Decree, and supplication on it is closer to being answered, so they chose it. However, their being consistent in doing so is questionable. If they did this occasionally, there is nothing wrong with it. Yes.
