The Shaykh : This contains evidence of the Companions’ (may Allah be pleased with them) eagerness to do good. Therefore, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was delayed, they shouted and called out in a loud voice for him to come out to them, until they pelted the door. It also indicates that a person, no matter how high his rank or status, may commit a lack of proper conduct. This is because these people (may Allah be pleased with them and forgive them) raised their voices and pelted the door. And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Hujurat 49:4-5] How much more so when they pelted the door? The meaning of “they pelted it” is that they threw it with pebbles, which are small stones, because the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) mosque was paved with them. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to them angry. His anger may have been due to the lack of proper conduct from their part, or it may have been anger because he feared that this prayer would be made obligatory upon them and they would be unable to fulfill it, or it may have been due to both matters. However, his statement Sahih Muslim 781a may support the second possibility, that his anger was so that it would not be made obligatory upon them.
And in his statementSahih Muslim 781a there is evidence that voluntary prayers, in general, are best performed in the home, whether they are rawatib, tahajjud, witr, or otherwise. means the obligatory prayers, which are well known. Yes.
The reader: And Muhammad ibn Hatim narrated to me, saying: Bahz narrated to us, saying: Wahib narrated to us, saying: Musa ibn Uqbah narrated to us, saying: I heard.
The Shaykh : Yes, it remains for us to say how he saidSahih Muslim 781a and why it would be written upon them? We say that if they are bound by it, yes, if they are bound by it and refuse to do anything else but perform it, it becomes as if they have committed themselves to it, and they are likely to be held accountable for the consequence of binding themselves to it. This is what 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) did when the people became accustomed to divorce by three pronouncements and began to divorce in that manner; he bound them to it, even though it was not obligatory upon them, but he bound them to it because they had committed themselves to it. Yes.
(4) Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers - most of them do not use reason. (5) And if they had been patient until you [could] come out to them, it would have been better for them.
