What is the reason the Companions were more affected by the Qur'an than others?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The greatest admonition for the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) was the Qur'an, and they held it in greater esteem than anything else, ... I do not know, O Shaykh, is this because they were Arabs who understood the meanings of the Qur'an? Or is it their sincerity and love for the Qur'an that made them so?

The Shaykh : There are many reasons, among them that they knew the language of the Qur'an because it was revealed in their language, in their time, and the events that occurred all served as an explanation of the Qur'an if they were the cause of its revelation.
Second: their faith in Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and their sincerity to Him, because faith increases a person's knowledge of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
Third: their love for the Qur'an, to the extent that they did not pass ten verses without learning their meaning.
Fourth: that the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) acted upon what they knew, and whoever acts upon what he knows, Allah grants him knowledge of what he did not know before.
