The hadith regarding removing the shoes of the Sabbath: it was said to be for the sake of the graves, and it was said to be for the shoes themselves. What is the stronger position?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A hadith was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man wearing the shoes of the Sabbath in the graveyards, so he called out to him and said:
O owner of the two Sabbaths, remove your Sabbath shoes. يا صاحب السبتين اخلع سبتيتك
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim interpreted this as a prohibition against wearing shoes between the graves, while some scholars said it is specific to these shoes. What is the stronger position in this matter?

The Shaykh : No, the stronger position is the first one.

The questioner : That it is general?

The Shaykh : The stronger position is that a person should not walk with shoes between the graves.

The questioner : Now, Shaykh, if we are in a town and I take off my shoes, would I be the only person in the entire town walking barefoot between the graveyards?

The Shaykh : Look, between the graves, not in the graveyard.

The questioner : In the places between the graves?

The Shaykh : No, sometimes there is a street in the graveyard.
The student: And that is the same.

The Shaykh : There is nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong with that; this is not between the graves.

The questioner : There is nothing wrong with this?

The Shaykh : No, no, because the street separates these from those. The point is between one grave and another.
