Commentary on Iqtida' al-Sirat al-Mustaqim-11b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "And Ibn Abi 'Asim narrated: Wahb ibn Buqayyah narrated to us: Khalid al-Wasiti narrated to us: from Imran ibn Hudayr: from Abu Mujlaz: that Mu'awiyah said:
Leveling the graves is from the Sunnah, and the Jews and Christians have raised them, so do not imitate them
.
Mu'awiyah is referring to what Muslim narrated in his *Sahih*, from Fadalah ibn 'Ubayd:
it was (dug and) levelled. He then said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanding to level them.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3219Sahih (Al-Albani)
. Muslim narrated it.
And from 'Ali as well, he said:
I am sending you on the same mission as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent me that I should not leave a high grave without leveling it and an image without obliterating it.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3218Sahih (Al-Albani)
. Muslim narrated it.
And we will mention - if Allah wills - from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As that he said:
Whoever builds in the lands of the polytheists, and makes their Nowruz and their Mihraj, until he dies: he will be resurrected with them on the Day of Resurrection
.
And it is established from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her): that she disliked shortening in prayer, and she said:
Do not imitate the Jews
. This is how it was narrated with this wording: Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us: al-A'mash narrated to us: from Muslim: from Masruq: from 'A'ishah, and it has preceded from the narration of al-Bukhari in al-Marafe'at "
.
The student: al-A'mash from ... .

The Shaykh : And what do you think, that between me and 'Abd al-Rahman there is only something that changes the meaning, better and does not
cut off?
The student: This is better

The Shaykh : Better
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Better, that between me and 'Abd al-Rahman there is only something that returned, for example, fell, needs to, yes.
The reader: "And Sa'id narrated: Sufyan narrated to us: from Ibn Abi Najih: from Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Rahman"

The Shaykh : Najih
The reader: "And Sa'id narrated: Sufyan narrated to us: from Ibn Abi Najih: from Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Dhi'ib, who said:
I entered with Ibn 'Umar a mosque in al-Juhfah, so he looked at the raised parts, then he went out to a place and prayed in it, then he said to the owner of the mosque: I saw in your mosque - meaning the raised parts - a resemblance to the idols of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, so order them to be broken
"
.

The Shaykh : That is the end of it.
