Is it sufficient for one who slaughters the sacrificial animal and then leaves it?

The questioner : Adam: We find some sacrificial animals that have been slaughtered and left behind?

The Shaykh : If there are poor people around him and he slaughters it and says, "This is for you," that is sufficient, without a doubt. But if he slaughters it and leaves it, that is not sufficient, because Allah said: Therefore, feeding people is necessary, and this does not involve feeding. Even the person who passes by it while it is dead may doubt its status and not take it.
