What is the meaning of Jabir's statement: (and he did not recite tasbih between them)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Saleh: Jabir's statement: after he prayed Maghrib and Isha, and he did not recite tasbih between them... is the tasbih in the prayer?

The Shaykh : No, he did not say that he recited tasbih in them. He said: he did not recite tasbih between them, meaning: he did not perform voluntary prayer. And from this is the statement of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both):
were I to glorify (Him). I would have completed the prayer لو كنت مسبّحًا لأتممت
Sahih Muslim 689b
meaning: as a voluntary act, there was no known prayer between them. He did not say:
in them فيهما
