The Shaykh : In this is evidence that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), like other human beings, is subject to what befalls human beings. So his she-camel stumbled, and he was thrown and fell from it, and he felt pain just as others feel pain. For he, may the prayers and blessings of Allah be upon him, as he informed about himself, said: [Al-Kahf 18:110] And as his Lord, Mighty and Majestic, said: [Al-Kahf 18:110] And whoever places him in the position of the Lord, Mighty and Majestic, in the management of the universe, has disbelieved in him and in Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and he is among the enemies of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and not among his close friends. Likewise, whoever claims that he knows the unseen, except what Allah has taught him, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Likewise, whoever calls for aid from him at his grave, or says, “O Messenger of Allah, provide for me,” or “Have mercy on me,” or the like of that, all of this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah) in which some people have fallen without knowing it. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), had he been present, would have fought these people, being among the first to fight, because they are disbelievers who associate partners with Allah. Give the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) his right, and do not exaggerate in it, and give the Creator, Mighty and Majestic, His right, and do not fall short in it. This is servitude. And in this is also evidence that a person should reassure his brothers and companions when something befalls him, saying, “I have not been harmed, I am safe,” and the like of that. For the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: “We did not cause any harm,” meaning that no harm befell us. This is good news, because when such a stumble happens, your companions and brothers will have something on their minds. So if you reassure them, saying, “Praise be to Allah, I am fine, I am unharmed,” this is good, as it brings joy to his brothers. And in it is also evidence of what people have been doing from ancient times and recent times: that a person may be blamed when a calamity befalls him, it is said, “The car broke down,” “The animal stumbled,” and the like of that. But it appears that such things are tolerated. Yes? Yes, we said… But it is on my mind, except that I was afraid of prolonging it for you. The same hadith is one, but the first context is first. If you wish, and if you wish, we proceed. Yes?
