The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, regarding the hadith of Ka'b ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) and his two companions (may Allah be pleased with them both), concerning the story of their lagging behind the Battle of Tabuk, and their being left without a judgment in their case until the revelation came from Allah (Mighty and Majestic). He (may Allah be pleased with him) said:: This means a month and ten days. The revelation was delayed, so the revelation did not come down for all this period. This is from the wisdom of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in great and major matters; the revelation is delayed and does not come down, as in this story, and as in the story of the slander, when the revelation was cut off from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). This is from the wisdom of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), so that people look forward to the revelation and long for it: what will the Lord of the worlds (Exalted and Majestic is He) send down?
The revelation remained for forty nights without coming down. When forty nights were completed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent to Ka'b ibn Malik and his two companions, Hilal ibn Umayyah and Mararah ibn al-Rabi', to separate from their wives. The messenger came to Ka'b and said:Sahih al-Bukhari 4418, up to this point. His wife is his partner in his life, his children, and his home, and he was ordered to separate from her, even though he was young (may Allah be pleased with him). So Ka'b said to the messenger: , meaning: If he had said that he commands you to divorce her, he would have divorced her, and there is no harm in it, and it would have been easy for him, because obedience to Allah and His Messenger is above everything for these people. He said: .
And so it was with his two companions. The wife of Hilal ibn Umayyah came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him that he was in need of her to serve him because he had no servant. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted her on the condition that he not approach her. She said:
: He cried for forty days because he did not know what the end would be.
He (may Allah be pleased with him) said:: Because, as mentioned, they (may Allah be pleased with them) found the earth narrow for them despite its vastness, and their souls became narrow. They found the earth strange and the people strange. They would come to the mosque and no one would speak to them; if they greeted, it was not returned, and if someone passed by them, he did not greet them. The earth became narrow for them.
: This means he climbed up to Sulayl, and Sulayl is a well-known mountain in Madinah , yes, Sunan Abi Dawud 2773, he said: : Relief has come down for us. : Look at the joy of the Muslims with one another; they are bringing each other good news, each one going, running, and hurrying from a direction. He said: , because the voice was faster than the horse. He said: : He gave him everything he owned; he did not own anything other than the two garments, but by Allah, it was a great good news, a great good news from Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) that Allah would send down their repentance and bestow upon them the gift of repentance.
So (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the man whose voice it was these two garments because of his good news.Mishkat al-Masabih 5908: And may Allah reward him for His Ummah with good, for he had announced to the people after the Fajr prayer that Allah had sent down his repentance for these three. Because he (peace and blessings be upon him) loves for his Companions and his Ummah that they repent and return to Allah. He said: Sahih al-Bukhari 1189, meaning: I am heading toward him. , meaning: Groups were congratulating him on the repentance of Allah for him. (May Allah be pleased with them.) These people love for their brothers what they love for themselves. They did not envy them for what Allah bestowed upon them of sending down the great Qur'an with their repentance, but rather they congratulated them until he entered the mosque.
In this passage, there are benefits: First, the severity of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) boycotting of these three, to the extent that he ordered them to separate from their wives. Separating a man from his wife is a great matter.
And in it also: The saying of a man to his wife, "Go back to your family," is not a divorce. Because Ka'b ibn Malik distinguished between saying "Go back to your family" and divorce. So if a man says to his wife, "Go back to your family," and does not intend divorce, it is not a divorce. But if he intends divorce, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 1. So if a person intends divorce with this word and its like, then he has what he intended.
And from the benefits of this passage from the hadith: The strength of obedience, or the power of obedience, of the Companions to the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Because he (may Allah be pleased with him) did not hesitate, nor did he say, "Let me go back to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)," or say to the messenger whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent, "Go back to him, perhaps he will permit it." He agreed with everything.
And from the benefits of this hadith: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was merciful to his Ummah. For after he ordered them to separate from their women, he granted a dispensation to Hilal ibn Umayyah because he needed his wife's service.
And from its benefits: The permissibility of describing a situation when seeking a fatwa or testifying, or something similar, even if the person being described may not like people to know about it. Because the wife of Hilal ibn Umayyah mentioned of his condition that he had no need for anything, meaning nothing from women.
And from the benefits of this passage: If a person is in such a state, and people boycott him, and he is hurt by seeing them and cannot bear it, then he is permitted to lag behind the congregational prayer, and this is an excuse. Because if he comes to the mosque in this state, he will be disturbed and not at peace in his prayer. For this reason, Ka'b ibn Malik used to pray, or he prayed the Fajr prayer, on the roof of one of their houses. We have previously mentioned this benefit in the story of Hilal ibn Umayyah and Mararah ibn al-Rabi'.
Among its benefits: One of the benefits of this portion of the hadith is the eagerness of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to compete in delivering good news, because delivering good news brings joy to the Muslim, and bringing joy to a Muslim is a means of drawing near to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), for it is excellence in worship, and Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) loves those who excel in worship, and He does not let their reward be lost. Therefore, you should, when you see something in your brother that brings him joy, such as good news, a pleasant dream, or the like, convey that good news to him, because you are bringing joy to him.
Among the benefits of this portion: It is recommended to reciprocate with a gift suitable to the occasion for one who brings you good news, because Ka'b ibn Malik gave his two garments to the one who brought him the good news. This is similar to what is authentically reported from 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): meaning: that they should perform 'Umrah and then break their state of consecration, and then enter the state of consecration for Hajj on the Day of Tarwiyah. 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to prohibit tamattu', because he wanted people to perform 'Umrah at one time and Hajj at another, so that the House would always be filled with visitors, between those performing 'Umrah and those performing Hajj. He did this as an exercise of independent legal reasoning (may Allah be pleased with him), and it is a type of independent legal reasoning that is forgiven. However, there is no doubt that the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is more preferable.
The important point is that a man sought a ruling from 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas on this issue, so he ordered him to perform tamattu', to enter the state of consecration for 'Umrah, and to break his state of consecration from it. Then this man saw in a dream a person saying to him: "A accepted Hajj and an accepted 'Umrah." He informed 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas, who had given him the ruling, of this, and 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas rejoiced at it. He ordered him to stay so that he could give him from his provision, meaning he would give him a gift for the good news he had brought him in this dream, which indicated the correctness of the ruling 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) had given.
The important point is that if someone brings you good news, the least you should do is pray for him with the good news or give him whatever is easy for you, and every person acts according to his circumstances. And success is from Allah.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.

Does he order me to divorce her, or what should I do?
He ordered me to convey to you that you should separate from your wife. So he said to her: "Go back to your family until Allah decrees what He wills"
She said:
He has no desire for women in this matter
And he continued to weep (may Allah be pleased with him) since the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them to be boycotted until this day
He (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
When ten nights had passed after this, and I was one day praying the dawn prayer on the roof of one of our houses
So one day he was praying the dawn prayer in his house on its roof, and he said: "I heard a caller shouting from atop al-Sal'
He reached the top of it and shouted at the top of his voice, saying: "O Ka'b ibn Malik, rejoice!
Ka’ab bin Mailk, have good news
So I knew that Allah had sent down relief for me
And a rider on a horse left the mosque heading to the house of Ka'b ibn Malik to bring him the good news, and messengers went to Hilaal ibn Umayyah and Murarah ibn al-Rabi' to bring them the good news of Allah's acceptance of their repentance
Then the one who shouted came, and the rider on the horse came, so the good news was for the one who shouted.
So he gave him his two garments, the inner garment and the outer cloak, and he owned nothing else. But he borrowed two garments from his family or his neighbors and wore them, and he gave his two garments to the one who brought him the good news.
So (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the man whose voice it was these two garments because of his good news.
I found God's messenger in the mosque
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do not set out on a journey except for three Mosques i.e. Al-Masjid-AI-Haram, the Mosque of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) , and the Mosque of Al-Aqsa, (Mosque of Jerusalem)."
So the people would meet me in groups, group after group.
