Some people say that calling to tawhid (the oneness of Allah), rejecting bid'ah (religious innovation), and calling people to the Sunnah is a form of driving people away. How do we respond to them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Some people say that calling to tawhid (the oneness of Allah), rejecting bid'ah (religious innovation), and calling people to the Sunnah is a form of driving people away. How do we respond to them?

The Shaykh : We say this is a mistake. Calling to the Sunnah and to tawhid (the oneness of Allah) is not driving people away; rather, it is the foundation of the call of the Messengers. Are the Messengers driving people away? The Messengers are bringers of good news and warners. We have previously explained, on the previous night, the difference between driving people away and warning. Even now, we must call them to tawhid (the oneness of Allah), but we do not confront them by denying what they are upon, saying, "You are on misguidance, you are such and such, and you are such and such." We call them to tawhid (the oneness of Allah).
