Is it permissible to perform istikharah in choosing a partner?

The questioner : Some people say: These matters are not supported by the evidence; there is no evidence for them. They say: What the evidence and knowledge indicate is that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, decrees for you one of the two matters, and it happens. If Allah is pleased with that thing, He brings it about; if He is not pleased with it, He turns it away from you.

The Shaykh : This is the essence of the supplication: "Make it easy for me and facilitate it for me." Also, dreams are among the things that help you and encourage you to act and proceed.
