The Reciter: Isma'il narrated to us, saying: 'Afan narrated to us, saying: Wahib narrated to us, saying: Musa, who is Ibn 'Uqbah, narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Huban narrated to me from Ibn Mahiriz from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): . And Mujahid said from Qaza'ah: I heard Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 1438j
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The chapter on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Hashr 59:24] These are three names among multiple names that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) mentioned at the end of Surat al-Hashr: These are three names: al-Khaliq (the Creator), and al-Khalaq (the Creator) is mentioned as in His saying: [Al-Hijr 15:86] And al-Khaliq is the one who brings a thing into existence in a precise, perfect manner. Therefore, in the Arabic language, "creation" (khalq) means measurement or determination, as in the saying of the poet:
"And you destroy what you created *** And some people create and then do not destroy"
"You destroy what you created" means you do what you determined. So creation is bringing into existence with determination, and Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) creates a thing with a precise, perfect determination according to what wisdom requires.
And al-Bari' (the Maker) means the one who originates, and it is close in meaning to al-Khaliq (the Creator), but there must be a difference between them, for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) does not mention two words without there being a difference between them. This is the principle in speech: that it is to be understood as establishing distinct meanings, not as emphasis. Meaning by "establishing distinct meanings" is that every word in it has an independent meaning, not as emphasis, for if it were for emphasis, the second word would mean the same as the first. Therefore, the scholars said: when speech revolves between establishing distinct meanings and emphasis, it is necessary to understand it as establishing distinct meanings, so there must be a subtle difference between them.
As for al-Musawwir (the Fashioner), the difference between it and al-Khaliq (the Creator) is clear, meaning that He creates what He wills in a specific form that He (Glorified and Exalted is He) chooses. Allah the Exalted said:[Ali 'Imran 3:6] Therefore, these three things are among the attributes of the Lord (Mighty and Majestic). Al-Khaliq (the Creator) is an attribute of Allah; no one creates. Allah the Exalted said: [An-Nahl 16:17] And we have previously given the answer that so-and-so created such-and-such, meaning he made it, that this creation which occurs from the human being...
In the expedition of Banu al-Mustaliq, they captured captives and wanted to enjoy them without them becoming pregnant, so they asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about coitus interruptus. He said: "There is no harm for you in not doing it, for Allah has decreed that whoever is to be created until the Day of Resurrection will be created."
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The chapter on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner
الخالق البارئ المصورHe is Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy. He is Allah, there is no deity except Him, the King, the Holy, the Peace, the Bestower of Security, the Guardian, the Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner.
Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator.
إن ربك هو الخلاق العليم"And you destroy what you created *** And some people create and then do not destroy"
"You destroy what you created" means you do what you determined. So creation is bringing into existence with determination, and Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) creates a thing with a precise, perfect determination according to what wisdom requires.
