The questioner : Also, he asks how he should pray if he missed three rak'ahs of the 'Isha' prayer: should he stand and pray two rak'ahs, then sit for the first tashahhud, then stand and pray one rak'ah, then sit for the final tashahhud, or what should he do? May Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : You stand and pray one rak'ah, then sit for the first tashahhud, then stand and complete two rak'ahs. This is what is obligatory for you.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Pray what you catch up with, and complete what you missed." And you have now prayed one rak'ah, so you pray one rak'ah and sit for the first tashahhud, because the first tashahhud is in the second rak'ah. Yes. It is in the second rak'ah.
