Explanation of al-Munshif's statement: "2- And a verbal distortion that does not change the meaning, such as opening the dāl in His saying, the Exalted

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for "a verbal distortion that does not change the meaning, such as opening the dāl in His saying, the Exalted
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds - الحمد لله رب العالمين
[Al-Fatihah 1:2]
"
, the correct form is with the ḍammah: al-ḥamdu. The author said: "This generally does not occur except from an ignorant person, as there is usually no intended purpose in the action of the one who does it". The general rule is that verbal distortion occurs only from an ignorant person. Why? Because there is usually no purpose in it. Verbal distortion that changes the meaning, yes, that occurs. But as for that which does not change the meaning, the general rule is that there is no intention behind it. Except for a man who wants to confuse the Muslims and make them doubt the Qur'an by making it difficult and parsing it contrary to the correct way. When the common person reads it, he says, "How is this mushaf like this and the second mushaf like that?" This may serve to create general confusion among the Muslims regarding the distortion of the Qur'an.
