The Shaykh : The first to speak of ta'til (denial of the divine attributes) was al-Ja'd ibn Dirham. Al-Ja'd ibn Dirham is the one who spoke of ta'til, and upon him lies the burden of this religious innovation and the burden of everyone who acted upon it until the Day of Resurrection, may Allah protect us from it. And how many people have acted upon it! How great is the burden of this man! We ask Allah for safety and well-being. Yes?
He said: "Allah did not take Ibrahim as a close friend, nor did He speak to Musa in a direct address".
The doctrine of ta'til (denial of the divine attributes) appeared in two fundamental principles: speech and love, for upon them rests the entirety of the Shari'ah. Speech is the revelation, and it is the Shari'ah, and love is the foundation of worship, for a person cannot worship Allah unless he loves Him. Based on this, I say: He denied two attributes from the attributes of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), but these two attributes are the foundation of the entire Shari'ah. How so? Because if he denies that Allah speaks, he denies the revelation. And if he denies that Allah loves and is loved, what does he deny? He denies worship, for worship is built upon love. Were it not for the love of Allah, we would not have worshipped Him, would we? So in that case, these two principles are among the most evil of principles, may Allah protect us from it. And did his followers limit themselves to denying love and denying speech? No, they denied many of the attributes, but this was the first thing he said.
So it was said to him: How do you say that Allah did not take Ibrahim as a close friend, when Allah said:[An-Nisa 4:125]? Are you now denying the Qur'an?
He said: No, far from it, I do not deny the Qur'an, but I say that the meaning of "close friend" (khalil) is poverty, poverty in the sense of instability, so he is in need of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Is this correct? Hmm? Correct? No, if this were the meaning of "close friend," then Satan and Ibrahim would be, hmm? equal, for all of them are in need of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), or both are in need of Allah, and the most wicked of people, yes? and Ibrahim would be on the same level. And this is something no sane person can say.
So, he said: Speech, he says He did not speak to Musa in a direct address. So in the Qur'an do you deny it?
He said: No, I do not deny it, but the meaning of "direct address" (taklim) is wounding, wounding, and I have a proof from the hadith. What is the proof? The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Riyad as-Salihin 1295 What does "wounded" (mukallam) mean? It means wounded, injured. So the meaning of "Allah spoke to Musa" means He wounded him. So what does it mean that He wounded him? Did Musa become all blood? He said: No, He wounded him with the claws of wisdom, yes? He wounded him with the claws of wisdom. Is this speech reasonable? This is by way of imagination, as the poet said:
"And when Death has sharpened its claws, *** You will find that no amulet avails". But what does it mean that He wounded him with the claws of wisdom, when Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:[Maryam 19:52]? But misguidance is misguidance, may Allah protect us from it, and it does not avail [Yunus 10:101]. So the origin of this doctrine is taken from a man called al-Ja'd ibn Dirham, and the explanation of this man's condition will come, if Allah wills.

ما من مكلوم يكلم في سبيل الله"And when Death has sharpened its claws, *** You will find that no amulet avails". But what does it mean that He wounded him with the claws of wisdom, when Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
