A man woke from his sleep and found moisture that he could not identify, and the author of al-Rawd al-Murbi' mentioned a detailed ruling; is that detail correct?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. A man woke from his sleep and found moisture on his garment, but he was not certain that it was semen. Shaykh, in al-Rawd al-Murbi' there is a detail, meaning if his sleep was preceded by foreplay or thinking or something like that, he does not perform the full ritual bath; otherwise, he performs it.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Is this detail correct?

The Shaykh : What we see is that if he is not certain that it is semen, the original ruling is that there is no state of ritual impurity and that the full ritual bath is not obligatory for him. This is the closest to the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): "A man does not break his state of purity until he hears a sound or finds a smell." However, the jurists (may Allah have mercy on them) explain it by saying: if his sleep was preceded by direct contact or remembering or something similar, and nothing came out while he was awake, then this is pre-seminal fluid based on what preceded it. But it can be said that his desire may be renewed again in his sleep, meaning we respond to them with this. Then we say the original ruling is the absence of what? The absence of the obligation of the full ritual bath. This is the original ruling as long as the person is not certain, then nothing is required of him.
