Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Now, if one performs the witr prayer at the beginning of the night, then gets up in the middle of the night or at the end of the night and prays, does he perform the witr a second time or not?

The Shaykh : No, he does not perform the witr a second time, because the witr is performed only once.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : And he performed the witr based on the assumption that he would not get up, but he did get up.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : And this does not contradict the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)
Make Witr the end of your night prayer. اجعلوا ءاخر صلاتكم بالليل وترا
Sahih Muslim 751b
because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not say, "Do not pray after the witr," but rather he said,
Make Witr the end of your night prayer. اجعلوا ءاخر صلاتكم بالليل وترا
Sahih Muslim 751b
And this man made the last of his night prayer a witr based on the assumption that he would not get up. So if he gets up, the doors of good are open.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : And that time in which he gets up after the witr is not a time of prohibition such that we would say he should not pray. Rather, he may pray as much as he wishes, without repeating his witr and without invalidating it either.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.
