What is the story of Tha'labah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: ...?

The Shaykh : This is Tha'labah. They say that he was a man who came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked his permission to leave Madinah for a share of the war spoils. However, the Messenger prevented him, but he insisted and left. He then began to abandon his duties, for he had pledged to Allah that if He granted him any of His bounty, he would give it in charity and be among the righteous. Then the man regretted his actions and came to the Messenger repentant, but he did not accept his repentance. Then he came to Abu Bakr repentant, but he did not accept his repentance. Then he came to 'Umar repentant, but he did not accept his repentance. This is well known among the common people.
