Q 1: Tha'labah , about whom the verse was revealed:[At-Tawbah 9:75]. Is he the same Tha'labah who participated in the Battle of Badr , and did Allah accept his repentance or not?
A 1: The verse mentioned was revealed regarding one of the hypocrites; for Allah the Exalted says about them: "And among them," meaning: the hypocrites. As for the hadith stating that it was revealed regarding Tha'labah ibn Hatib , it is
not authentic according to the scholars. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
