His fourth question asks: What is the danger of this entertainment for the future of Muslims?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His fourth question asks: What is the danger of this entertainment for the future of Muslims?

The Shaykh : The danger of this entertainment, especially if it exceeds the limit, is, in my opinion, severe. This is because if its causes are cut off, the result will be a tremendous reaction. People have become accustomed to this luxury and comfort, so if it is taken from them—may Allah keep us safe—it will cause them great hardship. For one who is accustomed to something and then loses it, the impact on his soul is profound, unlike one who was not accustomed to it before. The removal of this luxury and comfort is not far off if people use it to commit disobedience to Allah the Exalted and to be heedless of His obedience. For Allah says:
And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'
[Ibrahim 14:7]
And He the Exalted and Majestic says:
Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves
[Ar-Ra'd 13:11]
And He the Exalted and Majestic says:
And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing.
[An-Nahl 16:112]
So, if the servant gives thanks for these blessings and uses them to obey Allah the Exalted and Majestic, and through them recognizes the blessing, favors, and mercy of his Lord, they will increase by the promise of Allah the Exalted and Majestic.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : And if he is ungrateful for them, they will be taken from him, and their blessing will be withdrawn, as indicated by the two previous verses, or rather the three verses. Accordingly, it is feared that if these blessings are removed after people have immersed themselves in luxury and comfort, it will have a profound effect in terms of hardship, misery, sadness, and grief. May Allah keep us safe.

The questioner : Yes.
