The Future of the Islamic World and the Future of the Enemies of Islam

We return in this episode to the letter of our brother (A. A. J.) from the Arab Republic of Egypt. We presented one question from his letter in a previous episode, and in this episode he has seventeen questions remaining. He asks in this question and says: What is the future of the Islamic world in terms of strength and weakness, according to what the noble Sunnah indicates, and likewise the future of the enemies of Islam in this worldly life?
Answer: This, my brother, is from the knowledge of the unseen. This matter is with Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), and it is from the knowledge of the unseen. No one knows the future of people except Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). However, the requirement of the Shari'ah evidence is that the state of estrangement (ghurabah) will increase; no year comes except that the one after it is worse than it, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Ibn Majah 3986Sahih (Darussalam) But there may be intervals in time in which Islam prevails over others and Islam appears in some times and in some aspects of the world, as happened in the era of 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz, whose era was better than the era of the ruler before him, due to what he did in calling to Allah and compelling people to the truth. And as happened in Najd in the era of the Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him), where Islam appeared and the causes of disbelief were eliminated, and the Muslims united on jihad in the path of Allah and on the sincerity of worship to Allah alone, and the destruction of the graves worshipped besides Allah, and the elimination of idols. So the situation in the second half of the twelfth century and after was better than the situation in many past centuries in which shirk (associating partners with Allah) appeared and in which lewdness and sins appeared.
So the result is that the principle is that the estrangement of Islam intensifies year after year and century after century. But in general, this is in general, as a group of scholars said. And Allah may bring a time in which Allah relieves the Muslims, and much good occurs in it, and the situation in it is better than the time before it, as a mercy from Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He). And that may be in one aspect and not another, and in one region and not another, as happened in the time of the Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab and in other countries where reformers emerged, and the situation in their countries became better than the situation before it for a time.
And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) informed us that this Islam will end in the last of time, and that there is a wind that comes out which Allah (Mighty and Majestic) sends, by which He takes the souls of the believing men and believing women, and then the wicked remain, and upon them the Hour will be established. So in the last of time, the Qur'an is taken, the Qur'an is raised, and the believing men and believing women are taken, and the wicked remain, and upon them the Hour will be established.
But in this era, in the beginning of this century and in the end of the previous century, by the praise of Allah, an awakening occurred for the Muslims and a blessed movement for the Muslims, in which the Muslims are now in a better state than their state before it by times, due to the Islamic movement of the youth and others, due to the abundance of callers to Allah and Islamic associations and Islamic centers in various parts of the earth. And the callers have spread from here and there from the Islamic University and from this presidency, the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta, Da'wah and Guidance, and from the Association, and from other departments.
So the result is that this time now promises good from a strong Islamic movement and cooperation and calling to Allah and activity. So we hope that the near future will be much better than what has passed. As for what is after that, Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) knows best, and the evidence is known in this chapter.
And as for the future of the disbelievers, likewise, whenever Islam becomes active, the side of disbelief weakens, and whenever Islam weakens, the side of disbelief becomes active. And as for the details of things and the knowledge of their endings, this is with Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He).
But it is obligatory upon the Muslims to strive in supporting the religion of Allah, and calling to Allah, and that they cooperate on righteousness and piety, and that they be eager for the jihad of the enemies and the spreading of the teachings of Islam, until their religion appears, and until their religion becomes strong, and until they recover some of what the enemies took from them. This is the obligation of the Muslims, and this obligation is upon the Islamic states to fear Allah, and to rule by His Shari'ah (Glorified is He), and to strive in reforming the conditions of their countries and establishing the rule of Allah in their countries and among their people. This is the obligation of all Muslims.
And we were pleased with what we heard about the government of Bangladesh regarding their announcement of ruling by the Shari'ah and their agreement on this matter. And this promises much good, and we hope that Allah will make them successful in this matter and help them in ruling by the Shari'ah, and that He will make the rest successful in this matter, and that they will follow the example of others who strived and hastened to rule by the Shari'ah. And likewise the government of Pakistan has a great determination to rule by the Shari'ah, so we ask Allah to help them in that.
And likewise, we hope for the rest of the Islamic states, such as the government of Egypt, and the government of Jordan, and others. We ask Allah for them for help and success until they rule by the Shari'ah of Allah, and until they call to the systems that contradict the Shari'ah of Allah. This is their obligation, and by that Allah will support them and help them and improve their outcome and gather their unity on good. And Allah (Glorified is He) is the one asked to make all Muslims successful, rulers and ruled, leaders and peoples, for everything in which is His pleasure and the well-being of His servants, and to help them in ruling by the Shari'ah and holding onto it and leaving what contradicts it. Indeed, He (Glorified and Exalted is He) is Hearing, Near.
