The Shaykh : Do you not know that if they had taken him and said, “You are the one who did it,” from the very first moment, and brought witnesses from among the guards of the idols, people would not have accepted that action? But when they searched for it, it was as if they were asking, and this made the suspicion further away, just as Yusuf (peace be upon him) did when he placed the cup in his brother’s saddlebag. At the start of the search, he began with their containers before his brother’s container. He knew it was in his brother’s container, but if he had gone to take it out of his brother’s container from the very first moment, they would have suspected him of it. So they say, “This is so that it will not be said that they are accused...” as for Ibrahim (peace be upon him), from the very first moment. As for the benefits, they begin with[As-Saffat 37:83]
