The benefits derived from the saying of the Exalted: << . . . . . . . >

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
They said, "O Moses, indeed within it is a people of tyrannical strength قالوا يا موسى إن فيها قوما جبارين ...
[Al-Ma'idah 5:22]
Among the benefits of this verse is the explanation of the rudeness of the Children of Israel. This is because Musa was addressing them with gentleness, saying, "O my people," while they said, "O Musa." They did not say, "O Prophet of Allah" or "O Messenger of Allah." This is part of their rudeness and the harshness of their natures. Among the benefits of this noble verse is the bad opinion of the Children of Israel of Allah. This is because their Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) promised them that Allah had written for them the Holy Land, but they relied on a material matter and said, "There are in it a people of great strength." This indicates their bad opinion of their Lord (Glorified and Exalted is He). Among its benefits is the explanation of the cowardice of the Children of Israel.
We will not enter it until they leave it
This is the ultimate degree of cowardice, for who is the one who says, "I will not enter the town, village, or city" when its people have left it? A coward. So they say:
We will not enter it until they leave it
This is proof of the ultimate cowardice in them. And from it is the confirmation of cowardice a second time:
but if they leave it, then we will enter." فإن يخرجوا منها فإنا داخلون
[Al-Ma'idah 5:22]
. Among the benefits of this noble verse is that among the arrogant, opposing people, there may be those who possess good, righteousness, and reform, as indicated by His saying:
Said two men from those who feared [to disobey] upon whom Allah had bestowed favor
[Al-Ma'idah 5:23]
.
Before the verse ended,
but if they leave it, then we will enter." فإن يخرجوا منها فإنا داخلون
[Al-Ma'idah 5:22]
it also contains: the confirmation of their entry when these people of great strength leave it:
Then we will enter
This does not need confirmation, but it indicates their foolishness, because everyone knows that when a land is emptied of its enemy and they leave it, entry does not need confirmation. Who denies that a person should enter when his enemy has left his land? So we take the benefit we mentioned, that Allah the Exalted may place among the stubborn, opposing people those who have good, righteousness, and reform, as indicated by His saying:
two men from those who feared
[Al-Ma'idah 5:23]
.
