The ruling on one who denies that Allah rose above the Throne
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
At the beginning of this episode, we return to a message we received from al-Buway'iyah, sent by a Sudanese resident from there. He says: Your brother (F. A. S.), our brother, we presented some of his questions in a previous episode, and in this episode he asks your Eminence, saying: A discussion took place between me and one of the brothers as follows:
When I asked him about the existence of Allah the Exalted, he said: "Allah is not described with time or place." So I cited for him the saying of Allah ﷺ: [Ta-Ha:5]. He said: "You are a disbeliever. Allah is not in the sky." What is the ruling on declaring someone a disbeliever? What is the ruling on one who holds such a belief? And how do we correct the beliefs of people?
May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
This man who said this to you, and that Allah the Exalted is not above the Throne, is a disbeliever; he is a misguiding misguidance; because he lied about Allah, and lied about His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). So Allah says (Exalted and Majestic is He): [Ta-Ha:5]. And He says the Exalted: [Al-A'raf:54]. He said this, the Exalted, in seven places in the Qur'an. And He informed, the Exalted, that He is in the sky, saying: [Al-Mulk:16]. And when a man brought a slave girl to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intending to free her, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: She said: "In the sky." He said: She said: "You are the Messenger of Allah." He said: .
So the one who says: "Allah is not in the sky," or "not above the Throne," is a disbeliever, a misguiding misguidance, a Jahmi, and a wicked one. So Allah is described as being in the sky, and that He is above the Throne, above all creation ﷺ, as He informed about Himself (Exalted and Majestic is He). So you must inform the one who asked you about this and say to him: "Allah is above the Throne, above all creation, He has risen above the Throne in a manner befitting His Majesty ﷺ, He does not resemble His creation in any of His attributes (Exalted and Majestic is He)." Yes.
